February 05, 2014
New York--The Jewelers Vigilance Committee will host a seminar at the AGTA GemFair in Tucson on Thursday to give an update on compliance topics relevant to jewelers and the industry at large.
The session is scheduled to take place from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Graham Room of the Tucson Convention Center.
It will be open to all who have registered for the AGTA GemFair.
In “Legally Up-to-Date With JVC,” Senior Counsel Suzan Flamm will address progress on the Federal Trade Commission guide revisions, updates on the conflict mineral provision of the Dodd-Frank Act, changes in employment law, and plant and animal product regulations, among other topics.
The comprehensive discussion will help keep everyone up to date on changes in the law and responsibilities as a retailer, manufacturer, distributer or independent designer, to avoid risk and lawsuits.
JVC will also have available for purchase its new Supply Chain Assurance Kit, created to help businesses provide assurance to customers that the minerals they supply are conflict-free.
The kits will be available at Booth 55 at the show. The cost is $100 for members and $250 for non-members.
