Gübelin Opens First US Location in New York
It’s the third location for the Swiss grading laboratory and was opened in response to increasing demand from the gem trade.
New York--The Gübelin Gem Lab now has a presence in three countries.
Early this year, the Swiss lab opened a new location in New York in response to increasing demand from the gem trade, it said.
Located on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, putting it in the heart one of the major centers for the international gem trade, the laboratory provides scientific analysis of all types of gemstones.
With the opening of the new location, Gübelin now can participate in U.S. trade shows. It also has become a member of the American Gem Trade Association and will be testing gemstones on-site at the AGTA GemFair in Tucson, scheduled for Jan. 31 to Feb. 5.
The new facility comes as part of the Gübelin Gem Lab’s expansion program, which started in 2010 with the opening of the Hong Kong location.
Founded in 1923, the gem lab now is represented in three locations on three continents.
