SPS weighs in with silver holiday selections

Thistle & Bee’s “Wave Slender Swirl” cuff is sterling silver ($695) and echoes the Silver Promotion Service’s “Reinvented Classics” trend for the holidays, with its bright color and simple silhouette.
New York--The Silver Promotion Service (SPS) has identified five silver jewelry trends that will be popular among shoppers this holiday season, and has suggested a selection of fitting pieces that range in price from $200 to $2,000.
The trends are as follows.
Reinvented classics. High-shine, plain white silver jewelry in a simple silhouette is the perfect complement to polished outfits, the SPS says. Long statement necklaces and thick bangles stand out against dark winter wardrobe colors.
A little sparkle. Silver jewelry accented with diamonds or white gemstones are luxurious reflections of the holiday season for fashion-forward consumers.
Flights of fancy. Interlaced curves give a look of movement, a contrast to structured ensembles.
Edgy chic. Spiked, oxidized and hammered accents evoke a rock ‘n’ roll vibe in silver jewelry, the SPS says, which can enhance and add edge to sleek evening outfits.
Storytellers. Meaningful pieces inspired by a particular person or memory are top choices for gift-givers. Incorporating birthstones, initials or exchanging his-and-hers jewelry lends a personal touch to silver gifts.
Other trends in silver previously identified for the holiday season include black-and-white jewelry, avant-garde design and drop earrings.
