New York--Layered necklaces, stacked rings, thin bangles and small stud earrings will be popular gold jewelry picks this holiday season, especially among self-purchasers and consumers who are spending their money cautiously.
Megan Hayes, a freelance jewelry expert who has held jewelry and accessories positions with Harper’s Bazaar and LifestyleMirror.com, said there’s been a resurgence of people shopping for themselves, and they are picking pared-down pieces.
“People want something that’s a little more clean, a little more personal to them, less over-the-top and not such a huge statement. A cleaner, chic look has come back, and it’s stemmed from runway trends,” Hayes said. “It’s just a more refined look.”
