JFC announces 2 dates for Rings of Strength
December 11, 2013
New York--Jewelers for Children (JFC) is bringing back its Rings of Strength tour in two editions for 2014--an event at the close of the Centurion show and another during the jewelry shows in Las Vegas.
The first tour will take place on Feb. 5 at the JW Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson, the last day of the Centurion Jewelry show, which is held in nearby Scottsdale.
The second will be held May 29, the first day of the Couture show, in Las Vegas.
Both events will offer walking, running and biking options for participants.
In Tucson, the tour will begin at 6 a.m. and will wind through the Marriott Starr Pass property, which has existing routes through manicured grounds and nature trails.
In Las Vegas, participants will begin at 5:30 a.m. and again be able to choose from a challenging 50K bicycle ride in the Red Rock Canyon Conservation area, or a walk-run 5K along the Vegas Strip.
Those interested in either event can sign up on the Rings of Strength website. During sign-up, participants will create their own unique fundraising page and URL that can be forwarded to family and friends to encourage sponsorship.
All funds raised from the Rings of Strength tour will benefit JFC’s charity partners: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and the National CASA Association.
JFC’s first Rings of Strength tour was held this past May in Las Vegas and raised more than $40,000.
“Building on the tremendous success of our inaugural event, we’re very excited about the increased interest and potential to raise even more in 2014,” said Rebecca Foerster, JFC board member and developer of the Rings of Strength concept. “There was such a sense of camaraderie among the participants and everyone was so excited about helping kids who really need it.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available for both 2014 tours and can be accessed here.
