JFC launches Local Grants fundraising program

New York--Jewelers for Children (JFC) is introducing its new retailer-driven Local Grants program, which will raise money for charitable organizations across the country.

JFC has set aside 10 separate $10,000 grants for donation to charities. Retailers in the United States will have the opportunity to nominate a local organization to receive one of these 10 grants.

Once JFC compiles a final list of nominated organizations, retailers will be responsible for motivating others to vote for their charity via a campaign on JFC’s Facebook page.

Retailers can use their own Facebook pages, Twitter, email blasts, and other advertising opportunities to secure votes.

The nomination period for organizations begins today and runs through Oct. 4. Voting will take place between Oct. 15 and 30.

Organizations with the top 10 votes will be announced on Oct. 31. JFC will present the winners with the $10,000 grants by Dec. 31.

The 10 jewelers who nominate winning charities will have the opportunity to present their organization with the JFC grant directly.

“The Local Grants program presents a fantastic opportunity for local, independent jewelers to become heroes in their communities. Ten well-deserving organizations will have an opportunity to grow their programs thanks to their local jeweler,” said the American Gem Society’s Ruth Batson, who serves as vice president for charity programs at JFC.

Retailers interested in participating in the Local Grants program can find a nominee form on Completed forms can be faxed to the JFC at 212-687-3226.
