Jewelers Mutual celebrates 100 years in business
Neenah, Wis.--Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company held its Centennial Celebration on May 16, a formal event where jewelry professionals and other special guests celebrated the company’s 100th anniversary.
The event took place at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, Wis.
“When you think about where we started, in the back of a jewelry store in downtown Neenah, there’s a certain sense of responsibility to continue such a great legacy for the next 100 years,” Jewelers Mutual President and CEO Darwin Copeman said.
Earlier this year, March 12 was declared as Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company Day by the State of Wisconsin and the City of Neenah.
Jewelers Mutual got its start in 1913 when the Wisconsin Insurance Department granted a group of local retail jewelers a charter for their own insurance company, then named the Jewelers Mutual Limited Fire Insurance Company of Wisconsin.
Later named Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, the company today insures, informs and supports about 10,000 businesses and protects 280,000 individuals’ jewelry possessions across the United States and Canada.
Investing more than $6.1 million in the jewelry industry in the last five years, Jewelers Mutual has forged partnerships with organizations that endorse its products. The company also serves as an expert advisor and trainer to help jewelry businesses avoid crime and other perils, including recovering from losses when they do happen.
Jewelers Mutual has also received 26 consecutive ratings of A+ Superior from A.M. Best Company, which provides news, credit ratings and financial data products and services for the insurance industry.
