Jewelers raise $13K for children’s foundation
Richmond, Va.--A dozen jewelers here recently came together to give back to their community, raising $13,525 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation through the Jewels for Children jewelry raffle.
Each participating retailer donated a piece of jewelry with a retail value of $1,500 to the raffle, which was held during the 2012 Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball last month.
The Children’s Hospital Foundation raises money to support the role the Children’s National Medical Center plays in improving the health of kids globally.
Area jewelers involved in the raffle were Fink’s Jewelers, Carreras Jewelers, Charles Schwarzschild Jewelers, Cheryl Fornash Jewelers, Victoria Charles Jewelry, Adolf’s Jewelers, Dransfield Jewelers, Schwarzschild Jewelers, Vera’s Fine Jewelers, Cowardin’s Jewelers, Jack Kreuter Jewelers and Peter Alexander Jewelers.
This is the third year that Richmond jewelers have come together to support their community. In February, the group raised and donated $13,000 to the VCU Massey Cancer Center.
