Salt Lake City--A trainer and a coach have announced the dates for two more of their jewelry sales and marketing “boot camp” events.

Jewelry industry consultant and sales trainer Shane Decker and marketing coach Jim Ackerman are bringing back their two-day “Ack The Deck” event for independent jewelers.

The next one is scheduled to take place Aug. 2 and 3 in Denver, ahead of the RJO show, followed by Aug. 9 and 10 in Atlanta, co-located with the Atlanta Jewelry Show.

In addition to presentations from both Decker and Ackerman during the two day-long sessions, there also will be a three-hour evening session specifically for owners that will address a variety of sales, marketing, management, merchandising, inventory, pricing and promotional issues.

Attendance at each boot camp is limited to 137 stores; registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event costs $2,500 per person to participate, but registrants can receive a discount up to 60 percent depending on how early they sign up.

Attendees will receive substantial pre- and post-event assignments and follow-up, the two organizers said, to ensure the event is productive for every participant and that each store implements the things learned in a rapid and effective manner.

“The event was so successful last year, with many of the 60-plus attendees claiming it was the best thing they’d ever done for their businesses, repeating the event for 2017 was a no-brainer,” Decker said. “With an offer from the Atlanta Jewelry Show to co-locate our boot camp in advance of the August Atlanta Jewelry Show, we decided to double down and provide jewelers with an opportunity to select a date and location that works best for their schedules.”
