Its lineup includes a Designer Preview & Member Meetup event as well as an education program, idea exchange and certification exams.
New York--Jewelers of America has a number of events taking place during the upcoming JA New York Summer show.
The trade association will hold its Designer Preview & Member Meetup on Sunday, July 23, at Clyde Frazier’s Wine & Dine on 10th Avenue in New York.
At the event, JA retail members will be able to mingle with other jewelers and enjoy complimentary food and drinks while previewing jewelry from a selection of JA supplier members.
Sponsored by Synchrony Financial, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and United Precious Metal Refining, Inc., the Designer Preview & Member Meetup is free for JA retail members and press, but registration is required.
JA also will have two days of free seminars during the JA New York Show--on Sunday, July 23, and Monday, July 24--at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
The education program is sponsored by Synchrony Financial and will feature nine informational sessions.
The first session will be about the lab-grown diamond market, moderated by National Jeweler Editor-in-Chief Michelle Graff and featuring panelists Tiffany Stevens of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee; Ronnie VanderLinden of the Diamond Manufacturers & Importers of America; Terry Chandler of the Diamond Council of America; and James Evans Lombe of the United States Jewelry Council.
National Jeweler columnist Jim Ackerman also will be giving a session about new ways to increase sales and foot traffic, Associate Editor Ashley Davis will lead a panel on social media etiquette, and Travis Isaacson of Lashbrook will speak about staying relevant in brick-and-mortar retail, among many others.
The full schedule can be found online.
Along the same lines, JA is welcoming its retailer members to attend the next Idea Exchange, happening on Monday, July 24, from 8:15 to 10:00 a.m.
The knowledge-sharing session will feature interactive roundtable discussions covering email marketing, Instagram, and in-store events, providing an opportunity to connect and brainstorm with industry colleagues about the challenges and opportunities facing their businesses. It’s free and open to JA retail members.
Those wishing to attend should RSVP on the Jewelers of America website.
In addition to the above, JA has some other events and opportunities taking place around the JA New York show: Sales and Management Professional Certification exams on July 23 and July 24 and a booth presence (Booth #2062).
