October 16, 2013
Palm Beach, Fla.--The Palm Beach Show Group (PBSG) has acquired the New York-based Avenue Antiques, Art & Design at the Armory Show from Manhattan Media.
As part of the deal, which is effective immediately, the show’s name will change to the New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show. It will take place Sept. 17 to 21, 2014.
The deal marks PBSG’s first foray into New York City, adding a pivotal city to its national offerings.
“We have always known we wanted to have a premier venue in New York, and this show on Park Avenue in the heart of the city is the perfect addition,” said Scott Diament, president and CEO of the Palm Beach Show Group.
The company owns and produces nine other art, antique and jewelry shows, holding events in Los Angeles, Dallas, Naples, Fla., Chicago, Baltimore and Palm Beach, where the company is based.
With its experience running similar kinds of shows, Diament noted that PBSG’s “extensive marketing efforts will make an immense impact on the reach and participation associated with this show. We believe we possess all of the elements to take something as great as the Avenue Show and make it exceptional.”
Palm Beach Group also owns and operates CollectorsNet.com, an online marketplace that allows collectors the opportunity to shop and buy pieces from the group’s dealers at any time.
