TJA announces new conference for jewelers
January 15, 2014
Tyler, Texas--The Texas Jewelers Association (TJA) will host an inaugural conference this weekend that will focus on tools, tips, technology and team-building skills for jewelers.
“2014: Focus on Success” is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Tyler, Texas at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
The educational seminars will start Saturday with two certification testing sessions from Jewelers of America. JA’s certification validates the talent and proficiency of jewelry industry professionals to national standards, and conference attendees may register for the session on the JA website.
The certification testing sessions will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The day will conclude with a presentation from the TJA and a dinner.
On Sunday, the conference will offer presentations from Brad Huisken, retail trainer, speaker and consultant with IAS Training; Doug Hucker, CEO of the American Gem Trade Association; and Susan Desmond, Jackson Lewis LLP shareholder.
“This is an exciting time for the TJA and this conference provides the springboard to many other events to come,” TJA President Robert Harrison said.
Registration for the conference and additional information, including hotel booking, can be found on the TJA website.
