As Valentine’s Day approaches, soft, feminine designs that celebrate love and luxury come to the forefront. While the symbolic heart is incorporated into many pieces of jewelry, the use of color and shapes in design is also prevalent this year for the lovers’ holiday.

Celebrity jewels shone brightly again for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, held Jan. 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Use of the color-changing stone zultanite was noticeable at Couture this year, as designers such as Stephen Webster, Erica Courtney and Rhonda Faber Green incorporated the gem into their collections.

The winners of the annual Couture Design Awards were announced last night to nearly 800 retailers and designers at the Wynn. The competition drew the largest number of submissions in its history.
