DEF has introduced a new logo along with announcing Tiffany & Co.’s sponsorship of its upcoming Diamonds in the Sky event.
New York--Tiffany & Co. has signed on as a premier patron sponsor of the Diamond Empowerment Fund’s gala in Las Vegas, the proceeds of which will benefit the organization’s educational initiatives.
Scheduled for May 29 at the Four Seasons Hotel, DEF’s “Diamonds in the Sky” event will bring together professionals from the international diamond jewelry industry, government officials from diamond-producing nations and celebrities from the fashion and entertainment fields.
Proceeds from the event will benefit DEF’s “Diamonds Do Good” mission, which supports higher education and corporate social responsibility efforts in Africa’s diamond-producing communities.
Other sponsors of the event include Signet Jewelers Ltd. and Rio Tinto, both of which are premier presenting sponsors.
Tiffany is an existing DEF Empowerment Circle Partner, a year-long partnership program that also supports DEF’s mission of youth education empowerment and leadership development in nations where diamonds are mined.
“Doing good is not an afterthought, it’s part of Tiffany’s DNA and it is through support of organizations like DEF that we are able to impact society and contribute to the sustainability of communities where we source these precious gems,” said James Fernandez, Tiffany’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
