Updates on the newest African opals, the most recent opal treatments and the latest synthetics will be addressed, as well as examples from lab submissions, including jadeite imitations and assembled materials.
The lecture will take place April 17 at the GIA New York Education Center at 270 Madison Ave. Sandwiches and soda will be served from 5-6p.m., followed by the 6-8 p.m. lecture.
The event cost $25 and is open to members only. Attendance without reservations will require cash at the door based on space availability. No one will be admitted after 6 p.m. GIA Alumni Association members will earn 4 carat points for attending this meeting.
