GIA launches G&G iPad app
Carlsbad, Calif.--The Gemological Institute of America announced this week that its peer-reviewed publication Gems & Gemology (G&G) is now available on the iPad.
The iPad G&G application is a complement to the print version of the quarterly research journal and contains enhanced digital content, including app-exclusive gem-related videos and interviews with industry experts.
The spring 2012 issue of G&G is the first that will be available in iPad app form.
It features articles and digital content on a recently discovered emerald deposit in northern Brazil and a review of the properties and durability of coated, colorless cubic zirconia. In addition, there is coverage of the Tucson gem shows and the results of the Edward J. Gübelin Most Valuable Article awards.
G&G will continue to be available in print form as well, and subscriptions are now available. The GIA said that a free desktop version of G&G is slated for release later this year.
