Premiere of ‘Prospectors’ pushed to late March
New York--The Weather Channel’s reality television series detailing the lives of gemstone miners in Colorado is not ready to come out of the ground quite yet.
A spokeswoman for The Weather Channel said that the premiere of “Prospectors” is now set for March 26 at 7 p.m. MST, airing again at 10 p.m. MST. Originally, the first episode was scheduled to air on March 5.
The spokeswoman said the show’s start date was moved to take the slot of another show whose premiere was pushed to later in the year.
One of about a dozen original series set to debut on The Weather Channel this year, Prospectors follows the lives of a group of colored gemstone miners who search for topaz, aquamarine and rhodochrosite at an altitude of 14,000 feet in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.
High Noon Entertainment, which produced “Cake Boss” and “Hurricane Hunters,” another Weather Channel series, is producing “Prospectors.”
The series will consist of nine 30-minute episodes to start.
