AGS brings members discounts on Sarin services
New York--The American Gem Society (AGS) has inked an agreement with Sarin Technologies that gives its members significant discounts when they use the PGS estimated grading and ASET image software to generate reports on Sarin’s Diamond Assay Service.
The Diamond Assay Service is a Web-based system that measures all of a diamond’s proportions, presents them in 3D graphics and produces an estimated cut grade and re-cut grade with re-cutting proportions. It also provides real-time diamond pricing and generates an AGS/PGS ASET image with the estimated cut grade and prints information essential for diamond appraisals and reports. The technology is based on Sarin’s DiaScan-S+ measuring device.
In addition, the Diamond Assay Service also can generate an AGS/PGS estimated cut evaluation and ASET image for a visual representation of performance for round or princess-cut diamonds. The service will give options to print customized reports showing the ASET image, graphic proportions as well as price.
“As a beta tester myself, I have experienced first-hand the impact the Diamond Assay Service has made on my diamond business. With the click of a mouse I am able [to] get the information I need to maximize the profit of every diamond I am buying and selling in my store,” said AGS President Cathy Calhoun, owner of Calhoun Jewelers in Royersford, Pa.
Both AGS and Sarin will be exhibiting at the upcoming Centurion show and the AGTA GemFair in Tucson. The Diamond Assay Service will be available there for anybody who wants to come by the Sarin booth and try it out at the shows.
