Diamond-heavy pieces to dominate Bonhams fall auction
San Francisco--Bonhams & Butterfields Sept. 19 sale of salon jewelry and watches will include a variety of pieces, many with diamonds.
“This early fall salon collection is wonderfully diverse, very interesting and will appeal to a wide variety of jewelry buyers,” Lynne Arkin, graduate gemologist and specialist at Bonhams & Butterfields, said. The auction will take place in San Francisco.
A diamond and platinum bracelet (below) will lead the auction, estimated to bring between $5,000 and $7,000.

Pre-sale estimates for this Boucheron diamond and 18-karat gold brooch pin (below) are between $3,000 and $5,000.

An 18-karat gold flower motif collar necklace by LaLaounis is estimated to realize $3,000 to $5,000 while an amethyst, citrine, green amethyst cultured pearl and diamond bracelet mounted in 18-karat gold is expected to bring $1,000 to $1,500.
Bonhams has had a recent string of successful auctions, with “diamonds selling stronger than six months ago, and prices still climbing,” Susan Abeles, U.S. head of jewelry for Bonhams, said.
Additional auction highlights, as well as an online catalogue, will be announced closer to the sale.
