Sotheby's NY jewels auction slated for Sept.

This platinum, fancy blue colored diamond and diamond pendant necklace, from a private collection, is estimated to realize $500,000 - $700,000 at Sotheby’s Sept. 20 auction of important jewels.

New York--Sotheby’s will hold an auction of important jewels on Tues., Sept. 20, here, offering a selection of white and colored diamonds, among other lots.

This Sterlé platinum and diamond feather brooch (above), circa 1950, is estimated to realize $60,000 - $80,000.

Signed pieces of various styles and periods will be part of the sale, including bold jewelry from David Webb and Art Deco designs from Cartier.

A Van Cleef & Arpels platinum and diamond ring (above), from a private collection, is estimated to realize $500,000 - $700,000.

The auction house set an internal record in April for the highest total realized at spring sale, at $39.4 million.
