IDEX Online: D/FL pair brings $16.4M at Christie's

Hong Kong--Two matching diamonds, weighing 35.77 carat and 35.61 carat, were sold for $8.3 million and $8.1 million at Christie's Magnificent Jewels auction at Hong Kong Tuesday.
The D/FL brilliant-cut diamonds were the highlight of the sale, which totaled $82.7 million. Of the 310 lots of diamonds, gems and jewelry offered at the sale, 241 were sold.
The matching pair, sold a private buyer, achieved an average per carat price of $231,000 for the bigger stone and $228,000 for the smaller.
A pair of cushion-shaped Colombian emerald ear pendants weighing 25.38 and 23.12 carats broke a record when sold to an Asian buyer for $4 million.
A 43.36-carat cushion-shaped fancy vivid yellow diamond was bought by a private buyer for $2.6 million, or $61,000 p/c.
