K. Brunini Jewels included in two museum exhibits
New York--Select designs from K. Brunini Jewels are being featured in the Headley-Whitney Museum’s exhibition “The Cutting Edge II: A Gem and Jewelry Invitational,” showcasing the work of 23 contemporary jewelers and gem carvers from the United States and Canada.
Katey Brunini, designer for K. Brunini Jewels, has four pieces included in the exhibit, including two from her “Spirit Animals” collection: a unicorn pendant and the ‘Raven” necklace, made from nine carved jet ravens set in 18-karat yellow gold with rubies and diamonds (below, $33,650).
Located in Lexington, Ky., the Headley-Whitney Museum is a decorative arts museum founded by jewelry designer George Headley, whose collections are housed there. Additional information about the exhibit, which is on loan from the Smithsonian Institution and runs from Jan. 22 through September, can be found on the museum’s website here.
Brunini’s designs are also a part of another exhibit, “All that Glitters,” which runs until April 7 at the San Diego Natural History Museum. Four of Brunini’s pieces are on display, including an “Orchid” pin made of carved bone and 18-karat rose gold with white and pink diamonds and South Sea pearls ($17,075). Additional information about this exhibit can be found here.
Launched in 1998, K. Brunini Jewels pays homage to nature through its organic aesthetic. San Diego-based Brunini travels the globe to seek artistic and ethereal inspiration for her designs.
