New York--Celebrity jewels shone brightly again for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, held Jan. 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Drop and chandelier earrings were again a popular choice for actresses on the red carpet, a trend that celebrity stylist and jewelry expert Michael O’Connor said will grow increasingly colorful this year.

“Jewelry will be bigger in proportion, with large gemstones in a rainbow of color, whether that’s the dramatic drop of a colorful chandelier earring, a bold mix of multi-jeweled cuffs or a gemstone statement necklace,” O’Connor said.

In addition to colored gems, diamonds made their appearance at the awards show in geometric and organically shaped rings and simple, yet elegant, earrings.
