Centurion presents Emerging Designer Awards
Scottsdale, Ariz.--The Centurion Jewelry Show, which took place here Jan. 29-31, has named winners of its fourth Emerging Designer Awards. The winners were chosen by jewelers, who voted on entries based on creativity, originality, function, production quality, craftsmanship/skill, and their belief that the product could sell in high-end stores.
“All our entries were amazing,” Howard Hauben, Centurion president, said. “We’re proud to offer this venue to the talented designers around the world.”
The winners are as follows:
Jamie Cassavoy, Decatur, Ga.
Cassavoy’s one-of-a-kind “Bird on a Branch” pendant is made from 18-karat gold, oxidized sterling silver and a 3-point diamond ($1,425).
Shamila Jiwa, Seattle
Jiwa’s green onyx almond diamond earrings are made with 30-carat green onyx almonds, diamonds, 18-karat gold bead accents and 14-karat gold tulip motifs ($650).
Ward Kelvin, New York
Kelvin’s “Palace Gate” choker necklace is made in 18-karat gold with freshwater pearls and diamonds ($8,750).
Ruchi Kotahwala and Ami Jhaveri, New York
Kotahwala and Jhaveri’s “Pink Canary Multi-Function Swing” earrings are made from diamond slices, pink tourmaline slices, pink tourmaline beads and melee diamonds, all set in 18-karat white gold ($15,000).
Lydia Lerner, Danville, Calif.
Lerner's “Whimsical Bird” sterling silver cuff bracelet is made from sterling silver with a gemstone eye ($700).
Robert Namdar, New York
Namdar’s “REVA1” earrings are made in sterling silver and feature a pear-shaped, diamond-covered design at their peak and descend to diamond-covered braided lines of silver ($1,480).
