Auction benefitting Diamond Empowerment Fund

Feb 7, 2012

New York--There are still two days left to bid on items in the Diamond Empowerment Fund’s (DEF) online auction on CharityBuzz.com.

The first items for the auction went up on CharityBuzz.com in January and the bidding closes Wednesday afternoon. There are a total of 15 items available.

The auction includes a mix of jewelry, sports memorabilia and experiences. There is a chance to meet DEF co-founder Russell Simmons and attend the Art for Life event at his home in East Hampton, N.Y., in July, a pair of princess-cut diamond drop earrings from Rosy Blue, a “Shining Stars” Royal Asscher diamond ring, a rhodolite garnet necklace and “strawberry gold” diamond and garnet ring from Le Vian, and a pair of signed gloves from the Hall of Fame party for legendary San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice, among other items.

DEF is a non-profit co-founded by music mogul and jewelry entrepreneur Simmons that works to raise money for education in African countries where diamonds are a natural resource.
