Borsheims benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters
Omaha, Neb.--Borsheims’ 7th Annual Weekend of Giving resulted in a donation of thousands of dollars to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands, an organization that makes monitored matches between adult volunteers and children in the Omaha area.
There were several ways shoppers could support Borsheims and the charity throughout the Weekend of Giving. The most popular fundraiser was Borsheims giving tree (below), where customers could purchase a box off of the tree for $5. Each box contained a surprise gift ranging from glass ornaments to Borsheims gift cards. Nearly 1,000 boxes were sold throughout the weekend.

Another fundraiser for the charity is running throughout the holiday shopping season. A heart-shaped sterling silver pendant that mimics the heart in the Big Brothers Big Sisters logo is available at Borsheims for $25, with $5 of each purchase benefitting the organization. The pendant can be purchased here.
“We are thrilled that our seventh year of the Weekend of Giving was such a success and thankful to our shoppers who braved the snowstorm to support a wonderful local children’s charity,” Susan Jacques, president and CEO of Borsheims and a member of the Jewelers for Children board of directors, said.
A trunk show showed served as a sidecar to the Weekend of Giving, featuring designers such as Alex Woo.
“Not even the snowstorm could stop dedicated shoppers from coming in,” Woo said of the weekend, “I’d say the show was a great success.”
