NYSJA now open to all industry professionals
New York--The New York State Jewelers Association (NYSJA) announced recently that it is opening its membership to all industry professionals in the United States, regardless of their geographic location.
A membership kickoff event is scheduled for this Sunday, Jan. 22, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. during the JA New York Winter Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
The event will take place in Room 1D05-06, which is located around the corner from Exhibit Hall 1C next to the Special Events Hall, and will include a continental breakfast. Attendance is free.
At the meeting, the organization will introduce Mike Wilson of Wilson and Son Jewelers in Scarsdale and Mt. Kisco, N.Y. as its new president.
In addition, the NYSJA will introduce a new healthcare benefit program for members, managed by Cool Insuring Agency of Latham, N.Y. The agency will provide comprehensive reviews of jewelers’ current health-care carrier and plan to determine if the rates and benefits are accurate. Representatives from Cool Insuring will be present at the meeting to discuss the healthcare programs available to NYSJA members.
The agency is exploring the option of offering an exclusive association plan to NYSJA members but, for now, will just be focusing on each member’s specific plan.
Formed in 1909, the NYSJA has more than 600 members and recently established a new vision: to reach out to all those involved in all aspects of the jewelry industry and jewelry-related businesses.
