WJA Spring Gala to combine education, awards
New York--The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) this year will combine it’s “In the Know” education conference with the new Spring Gala, providing members with educational sessions, networking opportunities and the recognition of women who have made a difference in the jewelry industry.
The In the Know conference this year will feature notable speakers including Claire Shipman from Good Morning America, who will address “How Women are Changing the World, from Politics to the Workplace.” Successful entrepreneurs, social media gurus and trend forecasters, such as Paola DeLuca, are also on the roster to speak.
“We are always influenced by the feedback we receive each year and work tirelessly to produce an event that will fulfill members’ needs and provide added value,” Anne Valentzas, vice president of education for WJA International Board, said. “This year’s keynote speakers, break-out sessions and one-on-one mentoring sessions will provide attendees with tools to help make their businesses successful.”
The Spring Gala will feature the Spring Gala Awards, honoring 16 talented women in the jewelry industry who have risen to make a difference, including Shining Star recipients, DIVA Award winners and the chapter with the highest membership growth.
“We wanted to establish a dedicated event to celebrate these inspiring women whose work too often goes unrecognized,” Lisa Cochin, Spring Gala chair, said, "Our intention is to create a glamorous event that all of our In the Know attendees can experience.”
Both the In the Know conference and the Spring Gala will take place on March 1.
In the Know, which will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the McGraw-Hill Building in New York City, is $200 for WJA members and $250 for non-members.
Individual tickets to the Spring Gala, which will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the Harmonie Club in New York City, are $125, or $95 when purchased in combination with In the Know tickets.
