Richmond, Va.--Virginia retailer Schwarzschild Jewelers is teaming up with Cox Media Group to give one prospective fiancé a very public forum to propose this Valentine’s Day while also giving the retailer some online and outdoor exposure prior to the holiday.

The family-owned jeweler, which has been in business in central Virginia since 1897, is inviting men who are intent on proposing to visit the websites of one four local Cox Media radio stations -- k95country.com, 1037river.com, 965klr.com or hot1009.com -- between now and Sunday and explain in a short essay why their future fiancée deserves the perfect proposal.

A group of judges from Cox Media will select the winner, who will be notified on Monday.

Over the course of the week before Valentine’s Day, the winner will have his proposal unveiled on one of the LED outdoor billboards located at a major Virginia interchange, I-64 and 195. The following week, the answer to the proposal and, hopefully, a congratulatory message will be posted on the same billboard.

Based in Richmond, Schwarzschild Jewelers is one of the oldest retail firms in central Virginia and one of the last remaining of Richmond’s carriage trade businesses. The retailer has three stores, two in Richmond and one in Midlothian, Va.
