JIC proposal contest returns in February
New York--The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) will kick off its third “Ultimate Proposal Contest” next month, giving consumers the chance to win luxury prizes while also, hopefully, drumming up interest for fine jewelry.
The contest is a nationwide search for the best engagement proposal story. Members of the public are encouraged to enter by sharing their “Will you marry me?” stories on JIC.org. They also can vote for their favorite stories there and go into Jewelers of America retail member stores to learn more about the contest.
The Ultimate Proposal launches on Feb. 21 at noon EDT and runs through April 10 at noon EST. Between April 10 and May 8 at noon EST, the public will visit JIC.org to vote for their favorite proposal story.
The 20 stories that receive the most votes will move onto the final judging round. The grand prize winner will be announced on May 22, and the prize package includes a four-night Sandals Resort Luxury Included Vacation courtesy of The Knot and a platinum and diamond necklace from Platinum Guild International. The retail store that refers the winning story will receive a double espresso machine courtesy of GE Capital.
JA provides retailers that want to participate in the contest with marketing materials including a counter card, bag stuffers, email templates, website banners, social media content and contest logos. They also will receive exposure through a listing on the JIC’s website.
JA member stores that want to become participating retailers in the contest should visit Jewelers.org for more information and to register or email Amanda Gizzi at agizzi@jewelers.org.
Contest sponsors include GE Capital, Platinum Guild International USA, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and The Knot.
