Swarovski rolls out Valentine’s Day apps
New York--Swarovski has introduced two applications, one designed for Facebook and the other for mobile, both designed specifically for Valentine’s Day.
The “Sparkling Personals” Facebook app offers users a “personal advertisement,” or custom background, that can be shared on their walls. The app first analyzes a user’s profile information, such as astrological sign, to draw conclusions about their personality. After selecting personal images, users will be presented with one of three backgrounds to choose from: funny, adventurous or romantic.

The mobile app is aimed at helping gift-givers on the go. The “Sparkling Valentine’s Day Assistant” geo-localized mobile app helps shoppers discover romantic “hotspots,” such as florists, chocolate candy stores, lingerie retailers, spas, romantic restaurants and more--including, of course, the nearest Swarovski boutique.

Relying on Google Places, the app will help shoppers narrow down gift ideas within walking or driving distance. The app is available in the United States, United Kingdom, South Korea and Germany, and can be accessed by iPhones, Androids and other smartphones.
The apps are being made available during the first three weeks of February.
