Milan--CIBJO has launched an official website for its 2012 congress, scheduled for May 17-20 in Vicenza. Congress participants are invited to register online for the event, the jewelry organization said.

The congress will be in Abano Terme, a picturesque town between Vicenza and Venice. Because of its natural hot water springs, it is one of Europe's most celebrated spa resorts.

In addition to online registration, the CIBJO Congress 2012 website provides information about the event, including a program schedule.

The annual event serves as the official gathering place for the World Jewellery Confederation's Assembly of Delegates and the venue for the annual meetings of CIBJO's sectors and commissions, where amendments can be introduced to the organization's definitive directories of international industry standards for diamonds, colored stones, pearls, gem labs and precious metals, known as the Blue Books.

The CIBJO Congress is also where the program of World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation (WJCEF) and the CIBJO's ongoing cooperation with the United Nations is reported.

Hosting the CIBJO Congress 2012 is Fiera di Vicenza, organizer of the annual VICENZAORO trade shows.

The CIBJO Congress 2012 will be an anchor event of the World Jewellery Forum, which will take place in Vicenza May 13-23. The World Jewellery Forum will close with the with the VicenzaOro Spring jewelry show. Delegates to the CIBJO Congress will be eligible to attend all World Jewellery Forum events.
