Sterling’s Ed Hrabak promoted to COO
Akron, Ohio--Sterling Jewelers, operator of Kay Jewelers and Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, announced Thursday that longtime executive Ed Hrabak will succeed Bill Montalto as chief operating officer. Montalto is retiring at the end of June after 26 years with the company.
Hrabak, who currently serves as the senior vice president of merchandising, has been with Sterling for more than 25 years.
“Although I am very happy for Bill as he enters the next chapter of his life, his tireless commitment to Sterling and strong and impactful leadership presence will be missed after his retirement,” Sterling President and CEO Mark Light said. “Bill’s numerous contributions have been felt throughout Sterling and are a key reason for our past and recent successes.”
Sterling’s Vice President of Merchandising Stuart Lee will take over Hrabak’s senior vice president role, and Dawn McGuire, currently the vice president of mall merchandising, has been promoted to take over Lee’s role as vice president of merchandising.
Lee and McGuire have been with the company for 16 and 23 years, respectively.
