Hearts on Fire hunting for “Director of Stores”
Editor's note: This story was updated to clarify and provide additional information on Hearts on Fire's future plans.
Boston--An interesting set of posts on networking website LinkedIn indicates that Hearts on Fire is looking to open more of its own retail stores, which will be operated in partnership with Hearts on Fire retailers.
On March 8, the Boston-based diamond brand posted a job description for a “Director of Stores,” a new position for the company.
“As retail expands, we seek a Director of Stores who, through his/her previous experience with a multi-door retail expansion, will oversee the sales and operations of our stores as they open,” the description reads. “Our retail experience is meant to be like no other, and we look forward to sharing it with the world.”
Hearts on Fire Vice President of Marketing Caryl Capeci said all of the new boutiques will be operated in conjunction with an existing retailer, just as the Hearts on Fire store in Atlantic City, N.J. is run by Harvey Rovinsky of Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers.
The company also is advertising for a “Retail Store Manager” for a Hearts on Fire store set to open at the Forum Shops in Las Vegas and held a job fair in Las Vegas March 24 to 26 in an effort to staff the store.
“We are opening at the Forum Shops, and if you want to be part of a completely new retail vision, then let us know!” the post for the store manager reads.
Capeci said the new Las Vegas store will be operated in partnership with Cliff and Darlene Miller of M.J. Christensen Diamonds. It is set to open in May.
The brand is not releasing any more information at this time about future store openings.
In February 2010, Hearts on Fire announced plans to close “underperforming” accounts at more than 120 retail stores.
At that time, a Hearts on Fire spokeswoman said that the Hearts on Fire store in Atlantic City would not be impacted, and that the brand has plans to open additional retail stores.
