Golf champ Pettersen joins TAG ambassador list
Jun 1, 2010
La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland--Norwegian golf champion Suzann Pettersen recently joined TAG Heur's "power pool of ambassadors," the brand announced. Currently the No. 3 women's golf player in the world, the 29-year-old Pettersen is a longtime fan of the brand who will fit in with TAG Heuer's values, including its devotion to quality, performance and environmental responsibilities, a TAG Heur press release said.
As is the case with TAG Heuer's other female ambassador, tennis superstar Maria Sharapova, Pettersen recognizes herself in the sporty yet sophisticated message the brand wants to convey, the release added.
Pettersen, who started playing golf at age 6, has played professionally for seven years and won the 2009 CN Canadian Women's Open. Her next goal is take the leading position on the official LPGA Money List, where she is now No. 2 in earnings among the golfers on the list.
The golfer enjoys wearing her TAG Heuer Link model with diamonds as much as her Lady Aquaracer in steel and gold and says "a watch is a necessary piece of jewelry and an expression of who you are," according to the brand.
Last month, TAG Heuer announced that it was adding two car-racing luminaries to its ambassador lineup: Indian driver Karun Chandhok, 26, racing for Hispania F1, and Chinese F1 Test driver Ho-Pin Tung, who began joining TAG Heuer's young driver team alongside Chandhok after starting at the Monaco Grand Prix on May 16.
