Longines adds Kate Winslet to ambassador list
Rome—British actress Kate Winslet is the latest brand ambassador to join the ranks at Longines, which counts a handpicked, global roster of sports stars and actors as its "ambassadors of elegance."
At a Longines dinner held in the hills above Rome on Sept. 8, Longines officially introduced the Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning Winslet as its newest ambassador, saying in a media release that she "is the perfect embodiment of the values upheld by Longines. Thanks to Kate Winslet's contribution, the elegance of Longines' products has gained a new direction."
Also attending the dinner were two of Winslet's fellow co-ambassadors, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a Longines veteran who has been an ambassador for the Swiss brand for the past 10 years, and Taiwanese model and actress Chi Ling Lin, a Longines ambassador since 2005.
During the event, the trio of ambassadors sported new steel and gold timepieces from Longines' "DolceVita" collection, and guests tuned in to watch the inaugural showing of a new publicity film, la Dolce Vita, featuring Winslet, Bachchan and Lin in a contemporary interpretation of "the Italian way of life." Inspired by the hustle and bustle of the Eternal City's Via Veneto, the film aims to capture the atmosphere of the streets of Rome through the natural elegance of its brand ambassadors, Longines said in the release.
A promotion for Longines' DolceVita timepiece collection, the film shows the newest model from a collection that was originally created in 1997. The DolceVita timepiece is available in three sizes and a variety of dials, accented with or without diamonds and crafted in steel with yellow gold or steel with rose gold.
