Antiquorum NYC auction set for June 8
New York--Watch auctioneer Antiquorum's sale of important modern and vintage timepieces here June 8 will feature an Audemars Piguet Grande Complication watch and a Vacheron Constantin platinum minute-repeating perpetual calendar wristwatch.
The Audemars Piguet watch was created for the brand’s 125th anniversary in 2000 and made specially for the inaugural “Time to Give” charity auction co-hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Muhammad Ali.
The watch is a large minute-repeating, titanium and 18-karat pink gold wristwatch, featuring a round button split-seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar with moon phases. It is estimated to realize between $250,000 and $350,000.
The Vacheron Constantin minute-repeating perpetual calendar wristwatch (below) in a platinum case was made in 2002 as a unique example. The piece is estimated to realize between $200,000 and $250,000.
Also to be offered at the auction is an Audemars Piguet “Millenary Maserati Anniversary MC12 Tourbillon and Chronograph” watch, made in 2006 as part of a limited edition of 150 pieces.
Made to commemorate the success of the Maserati MC12 in the 2005 FIA GT Manufacturers’ Cup, this platinum watch with twin white gold and palladium apply barrels features black carbon movement with blue anodized aluminum bridges. With a 10-day power reserve and a visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, this piece is estimated to recognize between $140,000 and $160,000.
