Watch news: Star signs, the ‘Presidents’ watch’
New York -- Watch brands SEAH and Vulcain unveiled new product at the recent Las Vegas jewelry shows, while JEANRICHARD has inked a partnership with one of the world’s top yachtsmen.
Created by Florida-based designer Rachel Levy, SEAH is designed around the 12 signs of the zodiac--Leo, Virgo, Taurus, Cancer, etc.--and is intended to allow the wearer express their personality. There are 12 different watches, one for each astrological sign, with eight models designed in each sign and only 50 pieces made of each model.
The watches are Swiss-made and available in either a 38 mm quartz chronograph or 42 mm automatic three-hand with date indication. They are available in stainless steel, or 18-karat yellow or rose 10-micron gold plating with either a top-stitched alligator strap or matching bracelet.
The watches feature a wave-patterned bezel with the astrological symbol at 12 o’clock. Pictured below (clockwise) are the Taurus, Leo and Cancer versions.

SEAH watches retail for $1,495 to $3,200 and are sold with a booklet that describes the astrological traits of each sign. For more visit SEAHWatches.com.
Watch brand Vulcain has been in resurgence mode since 2002 and is now preparing to re-enter the U.S. market.
Founded in 1858 by Maurice Ditisheim, the Le Locle, Switzerland-based brand is best known for “The Presidents’ Watch,” the nickname given to the brand’s Cricket alarm caliber watch notably worn by Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon and Johnson.
Today, Vulcain is reviving the timepiece with the launch of the “50s Presidents Watch.” The 42 mm watch houses the new self-winding Cricket V-21 alarm movement and is available in 18-karat rose gold (pictured below) or steel versions with an alligator strap.
The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters and is fitted with a cambered sapphire crystal and a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback adorned with Vulcain’s stylized “V.” The 18-karat pink gold version retails for $27,900 while the steel is $10,875.

JEANRICHARD recently announced a new partnership with champion sailor Franck Cammas (below, right), who will don the brand’s “Diverscope” model (below, left) during his upcoming races.
This includes the Volvo OceanRace scheduled to start Nov. 5 in Alicante, Spain. In that race, Cammas, who holds a number of sailing titles including six ORMA multi-hull world championships, will helm the Groupama 4.
The Diverscope is water resistant up to 300 meters and is crafted of steel-coated, extra- resistant rubber. It features screw-down crowns, sapphire crystal that is two-and-half times thicker than a standard watch and has luminescent hands that can be read even in murky conditions.
