Hublot event, line benefit amfAR
New York--Swiss timepiece brand Hublot is presenting the amfAR New York Gala on Feb. 8, honoring those who have led the global struggle against HIV/AIDS and presenting a new watch collection that pays tribute to amfAR.
“We are excited to again join forces with amfAR in the fight against HIV/AIDS,” Jean-Claude Biver, Hublot chairman, said.
In support of amfAR’s goal, Hublot has created a second limited edition watch collection for women featuring the foundation’s colors and logo. As with the first collection, part of the proceeds will go to support amfAR.
“Our first amfAR men’s collection was very well received and we hope that these new women’s designs will bring us one step further in accomplishing the goal of a world without HIV/AIDS,” Biver said.
The new timepiece features a black ceramic case, white mother of pearl dial, and a white gold bezel set with 48 baguette diamonds, housing a self-winding chronograph movement ($64,400). A version with a steel bezel set with 114 circular diamonds (below, $22,900) is also available for the non-limited edition.
The amfAR New York Gala will feature a dinner, special performances, honoree tributes and the auction of the first timepiece of the new Hublot amfAR collection, engraved with the signature of amfAR Founding Chairman Dr. Mathilde Krim.
amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education and the advocacy of sounds AIDS-related public policy. Since 1985, amfAR has invested more than $340 million into its programs, and has awarded grants to more than 2,000 research teams worldwide.
