Gucci supporting new Music Preservation Program

Feb 13, 2012

Santa Monica, Calif.--Oscar and Grammy-winning singer Jennifer Hudson will be performing at the Grammy Museum this month to honor the new Music Preservation Program, an initiative supported by Gucci Timepieces.

In 2010, Gucci Timepieces secured a three-year partnership with The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammy Awards, to launch a Grammy special edition watch and jewelry collection. As part of the collaboration, a goal was set to jointly support the Music Preservation Program, which seeks to preserve important musical recordings that are vital to collective cultural heritage.

“At Gucci we truly have a 360-degree vision of music, defying the definition of specific genres to highlight what music really does: inspire,” Frida Giannini, creative director at Gucci, said.

Hudson will perform at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Feb. 11 in honor of the launch of the Music Preservation Program.

“Music has been, and continues to be, a fundamental part of Gucci’s heritage and this initiative is in tune with Gucci’s wider commitment to the arts and its sponsorship in other cultural areas, like film and youth scholarship programs,” Gucci said.
