Classic diamond styles rule red carpet at SAGs

Hollywood, Calif.—The 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards featured a parade of A-listers in spectacular diamonds, as celebrities turned out to honor their best in film and television last night. Helen Mirren, who won the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for the feature film The Queen, as well as for the television miniseries Elizabeth I, wore a 25-carat diamond bracelet, 15-carat diamond hoop earrings, a 29-carat diamond brooch and an oval-shaped diamond watch, all by Chopard. Among those also bedecked in diamonds were Cate Blanchett, who wore an Indian pendant necklace featuring more than 100 carats of rose-cut diamonds, along with antique 2-carat mine-cut diamond stud earrings by Fred Leighton; and lifetime achievement award winner Julie Andrews, who wore a "Happy Spirit" diamond pendant and pear-shaped diamond cluster earrings by Chopard.  | | Cate Blanchett chose an Indian pendant necklace featuring more than 100 carats of rose-cut diamonds by Fred Leighton. | Trends included diamond earrings in stud, drop and modern linear form as worn by Blanchett; Helen Hunt, in 7-carat round-cut diamond drop earrings by Martin Katz; Jaime Pressly, in antique diamond linear drops; and Reese Witherspoon, in classic diamond studs by Van Cleef and Arpels. Also hot were diamond cuff bracelets as worn by Mirren; Felicity Huffman, in a diamond bangle bracelet featuring 750 diamonds by Martin Katz; and Nicollette Sheridan, in a diamond cuff bracelet.
