New York--Jewelry retailers will have a chance to discover how their key business practices measure up against those of their top-performing peers at the 2nd America's Best Jewelers Retail Benchmarking Symposium and Awards Presentation, set to take place on Jan. 19, 2009, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
Building upon the success of the America's Best Jewelers inaugural event that honored couture retailers in July 2008, and based upon an extensive benchmarking study conducted in March 2008 by National Jeweler, this peer-to-peer event is designed to give retailers access to the metrics and key business practices that translate into high achievement and success in the retail jewelry business.
Speakers at this dynamic, one-day program, which coincides with the JA New York Winter Show, to be held from Jan. 18-20, 2009, are from independent retail operations, but the event is open to and geared toward all jewelry retailers. Topics to be covered at the symposium include operations, marketing, financials, human resources and customer service.
"This is the second conference in our peer-to-peer America's Best Jewelers educational program, and there's no doubt that the day will be supremely beneficial to the jewelers who attend and participate," National Jeweler Network Editorial Director Whitney Sielaff said. "What we've learned is that putting quality jewelers together in an environment of facilitated discussions is among the very best methods for creating solutions to common challenges. Who knows more about retailing jewelry than the companies that have proven themselves day in and out?"
Presented by the National Jeweler Network, America's Best Jewelers is a groundbreaking program that establishes a benchmark tool for retailers to measure their own performances against those of their peers throughout the industry. The program facilitates an environment of taking a leadership position that will allow for the betterment of an industry as a whole. It fosters peer-to-peer education to give retailers practical, real-world successful strategies that can be immediately and easily applied to their business. The program is a multi-media platform that includes print, online, face-to-face and data reports, and allows jewelry retailers to interact, share and acquire knowledge from peers on how to become a better and more successful retail executive.
Powered by The Nielsen Co., National Jeweler Network (NJN) serves as a conduit to a highly targeted global network of actively engaged jewelry retailers, designers, buyers, wholesalers, manufacturers and suppliers. NJN's diverse media portfolio consists of publications, trade shows, conferences, Web sites and data services that include the brands National Jeweler, Couture International Jeweler, Europa Star, JA New York trade shows, Couture and CustomerConnect.
America's Best Jewelers is sponsored by the Arabov Group, Debbie Brooks, Stuller and The Wall Street Journal. The first-ever America's Best Jewelers Retail Benchmarking Symposium and Awards Presentation took place on July 26, 2008, at the Westin New York. Winners received their awards in a reception attended by their peers and participated in a full-day, interactive, real-world educational symposium that had retailer talking to retailer.
The complete list of retail winners in both couture and independent categories, along with details on the upcoming symposium, can be found at NationalJewelerNetwork.com.
