| Christie's Hong Kong to auction this rare Patek Philippe watch, believed to be one of two known to exist. |
Hong Kong—More than 500 rare watches will hit the auction block on Nov. 29 during
Christie's Hong Kong's "Important Watches Including the Property of a Royal House" sale.
Several rare
Patek Philippe watches will be the highlight of the collection, including an 18-karat-gold dual-crown world-time watch with 24-hour indication and a gold guilloché dial, estimated at $320,000-$500,000. Christie's believes the watch, produced in 1953, represents only one of two reference 2523 watches in yellow gold with yellow-gold guilloché known to exist.
The auction will also include a Patek Philippe 18-karat-white-gold and diamond-set chronograph, reference 5071G, which has never before appeared at an Asian auction. The watch has more than 110 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 11.55 carats and comes preserved in its original packaging.
Collectors will also have the opportunity to bid on an 18-karat-gold automatic minute-repeating watch, reference 3979, estimated at $150,000 to $230,000.
