Watch: Digging into Archaeogemology

National Jeweler chatted with expert Çiğdem Lüle about the discipline and its benefits, how they study it, and projects she’s worked on.

The gemstone world is full of people who have found their way into niche areas of the sector.

Enter Çiğdem Lüle, a gemologist and mineralogist who also spends time working in archaeogemology.

But what does that mean exactly?

That’s just what National Jeweler wanted to know in its most recent webinar, when Senior Editor, Gemstones, Brecken Branstrator chatted with Lüle about how she got into the discipline, the process she uses to help identify ancient gems, and what it means for areas outside of the trade.

Watch the full session above.

Join us next Tuesday, March 30 at 2 p.m. EST when Senior Editor, Fashion Ashley Davis will interview jewelry designer and curator Stephanie Gottlieb about marketing through multiple platforms and modernizing selling practices.
