Iced-out pups in the arms and purses of young "celebutants" are all over the pages of fashion and gossip mags these days. Their sparkly, bubblegum-pink gem-encrusted collars and leashes are cute and age-appropriate for their owners. But I want to know what's out there for more mature, sophisticated pet lovers.

After a bit of searching, I discovered luxury pet boutiques The Quintessential Pet and Bark Avenue Jewelers. They have a selection of pet jewelry that easily rivals the "for humans only" collections at your local jewelry store. Now that I've found the perfect pet accessories, I just need to buy a matching dog.

I would love to see how a crimson freshwater-pearl necklace looks against the lush coat of Penelope the chocolate Cocker Spaniel. Or can you imagine Oodles the dark-blonde Lhasa Apso prancing around the dog park wearing an 18-karat gold necklace with a pavé-diamond dog-bone charm? All the pups at doggie day care are sure to be barking the next day.
