I have the best job. I saw a ton of interesting jewelry and watches this week from designers such as the Geneva Watch Co., Alex and Ani, and Temple St. Clair. But these two pieces stood out from the rest:

Alan Friedman  (310) 278-4944
What I love about these red-carpet-worthy platinum and diamond earrings is that the drops are shield-cut sparklers (the center stone in one earring is 4.74 carats, the other 4.25 carats), which add a kick of personality to otherwise traditional pieces. The drops earrings also include round brilliant diamonds totaling 1.55 carats. Of course, such a luxurious look comes at a cost—the suggested retail price for the earrings is $295,000.

Panerai  Luminor 1950 8 Days GMT
I love that this watch has such a simple design but such complex mechanisms. The aesthetic reflects Panerai's military past but also incorporates an updated, sharper design in a trendy, larger case measuring 44 mm. The hand-wound timepiece has an 80-day power-reserve function. Suggested retail price is $11,318.
