The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar "John Mayer" was celebrated at a star-studded party in LA last week.
Jewelry’s newest (and cutest) model
I’m guilty of being one of those people who can easily get lost in cat/dog/really any animal videos on the Internet, or distracted by a pet’s Instagram or Facebook page for … well, we’ll just say a long time. (You guys know Facebook-famous Boo, right? He’s so cute that he looks more like a stuffed animal than a real animal. And he’s also my favorite.) You add a cute little pet to a jewelry Instagram account that already features beautiful pieces, and I can’t imagine a more perfect recipe for success.
Not only does the Internet collectively freak out over any cat pictures, but doing something like this offers more personal connection between a brand and its consumers and social media followers.
And that’s just what Colette has been doing lately.
The brand’s social media account has taken to featuring designer Colette Steckel’s new gray kitten, Kiki, paired with the brand’s stunning jewels, and what a wonderful pair they make.
Though I wasn’t able to get her on the phone by press time, Steckel recently told InStyle that she and her husband got Kiki from a breeder in California and named her after high-end fashion brand Kiki de Montparnasse.
“Kiki is around jewelry all of the time, and just like any other girl, she loves diamonds.”

This is one of Kiki’s first appearances on the @ColetteJewelry Instagram, pictured with a number of the brand’s platinum and diamond bridal bands.

Here’s the adorable feline again, with a black bow diamond piece from the Atame collection, according to the caption that accompanied it.

In this one, Kiki is “contemplating her first diamond necklace,” a new piece for the Colette Les Fleurs collection.
And what’s next for the budding model?
“Next, I’m planning on making a little gold name plate for Kiki’s collar,” Steckel said. “Everyone is so into her and loves her photos on Instagram; she’s going to be the pet of my brand.”
Personally, I can’t wait to see more of Kiki. Follow her jewelry adventures here.
