Ramat Gan, Israel--The third edition of Israel Diamond Week in New York has been scheduled to take place in mid-November to allow attendees to renew business between suppliers and clients.

Hosted by the Israel Diamond Exchange and the Diamond Dealers Club of New York, Diamond Week is scheduled for Nov. 10 to 13 on the trading floor of the DDC, located at 580 Fifth Ave.

The event aims to boost trade between members of the two bourses and lower the threshold for diamond-buying jewelry manufacturers and retailers who wish to gain access to the club, the DDC said.

“The New York diamond business community and the Israel diamond industry are interdependent,” IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer said. “Israel is a key supplier of higher-quality goods to the American market, and New York, in particular the DDC, is the gateway for diamond supplies coming from Israel.”

Approximately 100 Israeli diamond firms will be able to sign up and participate in the event, the DDC said. About 50 companies took part in the first Israel Diamond Week in New York in 2012, and in November 2013 more than 100 attended the diamond sales festival at the DDC.

Online registration for Israel Diamond Week in New York will open in mid-September, after the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.

“The time slot chosen for this event will give jewelry manufacturers, retailers and designers an excellent opportunity to replenish their stocks, as they all are giving their business another push towards the Christmas holiday season,” DDC President Reuven Kaufman said.
