Color Merchants Marks 30 Years in Business
The fine jewelry manufacturer also is now a member of The Plumb Club.
New York--Fine jewelry manufacturer Color Merchants is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and has become a member of an industry organization that recently expanded its membership.
Founded in 1987 in New York City, Color Merchants has grown from a two-person operation to a staff of more than 25.
The company focuses on marketable collections, from classic birthstone styles to the relatively new branded line of fashion jewelry, Brevani.
“We have achieved this milestone through the hard work and dedication of our associates and our culture of customer service that exists throughout our organization,” President and founder Keven Peck said. “We have dedicated ourselves to 30 years of product innovation and efficient manufacturing to provide our customer with the highest quality products. Throughout 2017, we will be taking a look at where we started and what we have achieved.”
Just in time to celebrate the big 3-0, Color Merchants has been accepted into The Plumb Club at JCK Las Vegas this summer.
The Plumb Club just announced a new strategic plan for the next few years to increase its influence and broaden its retail community through initiatives such as expanding membership, trade show involvement, member branding, industry leadership roles, and responsible sourcing and best business practices.
A key change for The Plumb Club will be that it is opening up its membership beyond trade shows to include non-exhibiting members.
The Plumb Club also wants to increase its leadership role, establishing representation on the boards of some industry non-profits and requiring members to either complete Responsible Jewellery Council certification or its own internal compliance requirements.
In addition to Color Merchants, The Plumb Club has added The Kingswood Company, which makes private-label jewelry care products, as a member. Kingswood also is exhibiting in The Plumb Club at JCK Las Vegas this year but, as mentioned, The Plumb Club will now be accepting companies as members that aren’t exhibiting.
The Plumb Club pavilion at this year’s JCK Las Vegas show (Monday, June 5 to Thursday, June 8) will include a total of 43 companies.
