A career fair with the GIA, Rock Lobsters from Kara Ross and an annual retailer conference in California were among the recent events in the jewelry industry.

The Gemological Institute of America held a Jewelry Career Fair at Javits Center in New York on July 28 where 44 companies looked to fill hundreds of positions, ranging from on-air television host to jobs in design, manufacturing and sales.

New York-based designer Kara Ross launched her objets d’art Rock Lobsters collection with an event Tuesday at her Madison Avenue boutique. Guests who shared photos of the store’s new window display on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #RockLobsters were treated to Maine lobster rolls.
